Know your beach rights
- By Greek law, the beach is public. You may lay a towel anywhere not covered by licensed sunbeds.
- Licensed operators may cover max. 50–60% of a beach; a free strip near the water must stay open.
- Prices must be posted visibly. Ask for a receipt (apodeixi) — it's your right.
- Report overcharging or blocked access to the 'MyCoast' app run by the Greek government.
- 'Free with consumption' usually means a minimum spend per person — ask the amount first.
