Parking

Athens

Street parking in central Athens is paid and limited to 3 hours. For a longer stay, use an underground or private garage.

How street parking works

  • White bays: visitors, paid. Blue bays: residents with a permit only. Yellow: special use, no parking.
  • Paid hours: Monday–Friday 09:00–21:00, Saturday 09:00–16:00. Free on Sundays and public holidays.
  • Maximum 3 hours. The price rises with time: from €0.50 for 30 minutes to €2 for 2 hours and €6 for 3 hours.
  • Pay in the City of Athens app AthensWay (it replaced myAthensPass in September 2026), or with cash or card at kiosks that sell parking time.

Where to park

Good to know

  • Drivers with a disability permit park free in visitor bays.

Car parks in Athens

Car parks from OpenStreetMap, mapped by volunteers. Paid or free is shown only where it's mapped: check the sign at the entrance.

Checked November 2026. Rules and prices change: the sign at the spot always wins.
